MIRUM® is the world’s first plastic-free alternative to leather. While plenty of vegan leather alternatives are on the market, many of these options still rely on petroleum-based materials (PU) and processes with significant environmental impacts. Mirum®, on the other hand, is made from renewable resources. It is made of responsibly sourced natural rubber, plant-based oil, natural pigments, and minerals.

1. Natural Ingredients: Mirum® is made exclusively from natural materials. There are no plastics, synthetic dyes, or harmful fillers involved.
2. Mixing: The carefully selected ingredients are combined to create a uniform mixture of natural pigments, fillers, oils, and waxes.
3. Sheeting: The mixed material is rolled out into sheets and cut to the desired size.
4. Bonding: The Mirum® sheets are placed on an organic cotton canvas and pressed together. This process allows the Mirum® to bond with the canvas without the need for adhesives.
5. Texturing and Coloring: The material is embossed with a grain texture to mimic the appearance of leather. The colors are derived from plant and mineral pigments, ensuring a natural and toxin-free finish.

Mirum® is designed to look and feel like real leather. Its material performance matches or is better than that of many synthetic alternatives. Its flexibility provides a luxurious feel similar to real leather. It is reinforced with GOTS-certified cotton canvas, giving it strength and durability. It’s also water—and stain-resistant and requires no special care, making it easy to use.
